The project is an urban power tunnel constructed by shield tunnelling within a developed area of Shanghai.
Works interface with city roads, underground utilities and other sensitive surroundings, while the underground
work environment is constrained and the construction sequence involves multiple interconnected risks.
Risk priorities change materially between construction stages. Launch and reception require particular attention
to equipment condition, end treatment, support structures, portal sealing and confined-space work.
Continued tunnelling places greater emphasis on tail sealing, screw-conveyor inflow, synchronous grouting,
completed-tunnel quality, long-distance ventilation and transport, and environmental monitoring under confined-aquifer conditions.
BY Consulting provides continuing whole-process safety inspection consulting and integrates project documents,
field conditions, monitoring data and specialist experience to support safety management,
critical-milestone control and rectification closure.
